South Dakota Health Care Association
Leadership Exchange Workshop — Chris Sund brought an interactive leadership experience to long-term care leaders and healthcare administrators from across South Dakota.

Supporting long-term care
across the state.
The South Dakota Health Care Association represents long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, and healthcare organizations throughout South Dakota. The Annual Conference brings together administrators, directors of nursing, and healthcare leaders to address workforce, regulatory, and operational challenges in long-term care.
Chris was honored to be part of this event, leading a session designed to help attendees think more intentionally about leadership, communication, teamwork, and personal growth in today’s healthcare environment.
Leadership Exchange Workshop
An interactive leadership experience, not a traditional presentation
The workshop encourages participants to reflect, engage in meaningful discussion, and explore the habits, mindsets, and behaviors that shape effective leadership.
Participants work through thought-provoking questions and real leadership scenarios that create honest conversation around communication, trust, accountability, growth, self awareness, and team dynamics. The format helps people open up, learn from one another, and walk away with practical insights they can apply immediately.
For healthcare teams, this kind of discussion matters. Strong leadership impacts culture, retention, collaboration, and the day-to-day experience of both employees and those they serve.
What Attendees Took Away
Reflect on their personal leadership style.
Identify ways to improve communication and teamwork.
Discuss real workplace challenges in a constructive setting.
Build greater awareness around trust, responsibility, and influence.
Leave with practical ideas to strengthen leadership at every level.
In healthcare, leadership affects more than performance metrics. It influences morale, retention, communication, service, and the everyday experiences of both staff and residents. As organizations face continued pressure around staffing, change, and operational demands, leadership development becomes even more important.
Interactive sessions help teams slow down, think differently, and have the conversations that often do not happen during a normal workday. Those conversations can lead to stronger trust, better alignment, and healthier team dynamics.
