About the Event

A night for the ones who did the work.

Fremont High School’s Academic Achievement Award Night honors the students who showed up, put in the hours, and earned the recognition. Families fill the room. Teachers and coaches watch students they have invested years in walk across a stage.

Chris is a Fremont resident, and speaking to students in his own community is one of the engagements he looks forward to most. The message is built for the room: what these students have already proven about themselves, and what it means for everything that comes next.

The Talk

You Are Capable of More

Built for students on the night they are recognized.

◆ About the Talk

An award night is a strange kind of ending. The work is done, the name gets read, everyone claps, and then the question nobody says out loud starts up: was that the peak, or the start?

Chris makes the case that the achievement being recognized tonight matters far less for what it proves about a transcript than for what it proves about the student. Discipline, follow-through, and the willingness to keep going when it stopped being fun are not high school skills. They are the whole game. The trophy is evidence, not a finish line.

Inside the Talk
01

The Award Is Evidence

What tonight actually proves, and what it does not.

02

Nobody Feels Ready

The people you admire started before they were qualified. Everyone does.

03

Small Moments Compound

Nothing here was won in a day. It was won in the unremarkable ones.

04

Who You Become Next

The version of you four years out is being decided by habits you have already built.

What to Expect

What Students Will Take Away

01

A read on what their own effort has already proven about them.

02

Permission to start things before they feel ready for them.

03

Why the habits behind the award outlast the award itself.

04

One person in the room to go thank on the way out.

The Book

You Are Capable of More.

You Are Capable of More is the bestselling book behind the talk — ten principles for closing the gap between who you are right now and who you are capable of becoming.

It was written for anyone standing at the start of something, unsure whether they have what the next thing requires. Nobody does at first. That is the point. The students being recognized tonight have already proven more about themselves than they realize.
