In Long-Term Care, the People Are the Product
A resident does not experience a building. They experience the aide who remembers how they take their coffee. Chris Sund speaks to skilled nursing and long-term care teams about why that work matters and what it actually takes to keep good people doing it. Booking for assisted living, home health, or hospice? See the senior care page. Planning for a retirement community operator? See the retirement community speaker page.
Why This Room Is Different
Long-term care carries the highest turnover in healthcare, and the people doing the heaviest emotional work are often the lowest paid in the building. A speaker who walks into that room with a general leadership talk loses it inside two minutes. The people in front of you have been short staffed for years, have been told to do more with less more times than they can count, and can tell immediately whether the person on stage has any idea what their Tuesday looks like.
- It has to reach CNAs, dietary, housekeeping, and activities, not just nursing
- It has to respect what the work costs them emotionally
- It cannot pretend pay is the answer, because you are not going to win on pay
- It has to be practical enough to use on the next shift
- It has to leave people feeling valued rather than lectured
He Has Actually Worked This Category
This is not a healthcare speaker adding long-term care to a list of industries. Chris has spoken at the AHCA/NCAL Annual Convention, LeadingAge Illinois, and the Iowa, South Dakota, Montana, and Colorado health care associations. Several of those associations have brought him back, and senior living operators book him directly, including Spring Living Retirement Communities for its leadership team in Playa del Carmen in November 2026.
He also brings the numbers. As President and COO of Uniti Med and GQR Healthcare and COO of Nebula, Chris runs organizations that staff long-term care facilities every day, which means he arrives already knowing your agency costs, your vacancy math, and what your competitors down the road are paying. That combination is rare on a stage, and it is why administrators tend to trust him faster than they trust a speaker who studied the industry from outside it.

“The takeaways from The Power of Small Moments were incredible. I shared them with my whole team and gave everyone permission to enjoy those small moments that mean so much.”
Where Chris Speaks in This Space
State Association Convention
Opening or closing keynote for a health care association or LeadingAge affiliate annual meeting.
All Staff and In-Service Days
A session built for the whole building, often repeated across shifts so nights and weekends are included.
Recognition and Service Awards
Years-of-service nights and appreciation events, where the message honors what longevity in this work costs.
Administrator and DON Meetings
Leadership sessions for administrators, directors of nursing, and regional teams on retention and culture.
Programs for Skilled Nursing and Long-Term Care
You Are Capable of More
The signature keynote. Renewal for people who have been short staffed for years.
The Power of Small Moments
Resident and family experience, built from the interactions that decide a facility’s reputation.
Leadership Keynote
For administrators, DONs, and the charge nurses holding the floor together.
Culture Keynote
Build a building people stay in, on a long-term care budget.
Books, Signings, and Event Promotion
Most association budgets already include something for attendees, and most facilities already spend on recognition gifts. A signed book that keeps working after the event ends does more than another branded item, and it costs less than most organizations expect at volume. Chris signs copies for the group and can personalize the message to your event.
He can also run a signing table after the keynote and promotes your event across his own channels before and after. Ask about bulk book pricing, signings, and promotion when you reach out and it can be quoted together with the keynote as one package.

What Planners Ask
Will this land with CNAs and not just management?
That is the point of it. The message is built so the aide, the cook, the housekeeper, and the administrator all hear their own work in it. Associations consistently report that the mixed room is where it works best, because everyone gets named rather than just the departments with titles.
Does Chris understand the staffing side of long-term care?
He runs it. As President and COO of Uniti Med and GQR Healthcare and COO of Nebula, he leads organizations that staff long-term care facilities, so he arrives knowing agency rates, vacancy costs, and what turnover is actually doing to your budget.
Can he speak to a building rather than a conference?
Yes. Individual facility sessions are common, and they are often repeated across shifts so that nights and weekends are not left out. He will build to whatever length and format the day allows.
Can we give the book to every attendee?
Yes. Signed copies of You Are Capable of More can be included for the whole group and quoted as part of the same package. Many organizations use it in place of a standard recognition gift.
What does it cost?
Fees depend on location, format, and whether books are included. Chris is based in Nebraska, which keeps travel costs low across much of the Midwest and Mountain West. Reach out with your budget and you will get a straight answer.
