State Healthcare Association Speaker

State Healthcare Association Speaker

Your Members Are Fighting the Same Workforce Battle

Chris Sund keynotes state healthcare association conferences across the country. He is President and COO of Uniti Med and GQR Healthcare and COO of Nebula, which means he arrives with the vacancy math, the agency economics, and the retention numbers your members are living with, not a general session borrowed from another industry.

Associations Chris Has Served

State and national healthcare associations book Chris for general sessions, executive forums, and member education.

What Program Chairs Are Actually Solving For

A state association conference has a harder job than a corporate event. The room holds administrators, directors of nursing, HR leaders, and frontline staff from facilities of wildly different sizes, and they all paid to be there. A speaker has to land on a 25 bed critical access hospital and a 300 bed system in the same forty minutes.

  • Content that works for both large systems and small rural members
  • Something the room can use on Monday, not just feel good about Friday
  • A speaker who knows the regulatory and staffing pressure they are under
  • General session energy that does not turn into a sales pitch
  • Someone who will show up for the whole event, not fly in and out

Sessions Associations Book

Opening or Closing General Session

The message the whole conference hears, built around what your members are carrying this year.

Workforce & Retention Breakout

Why people stay, why they leave, and how much of it a direct supervisor controls.

Leadership Track Session

For administrators and directors who were promoted off the floor and never developed as leaders.

Patient Experience Session

How every role in a facility shapes what a patient remembers, not just the clinical team.

He Is a Board Member, Not Just a Speaker

Chris serves as Vice President of the NATHO board of directors and is an active member of the NAHCR membership committee. He understands association work from the inside, including how program committees choose speakers, how member education gets funded, and why a session that does not serve the membership is a problem for the board long after the conference ends. He treats an association booking as a partnership with the organization rather than a date on a calendar.

Books, Signings, and Event Promotion

Many associations budget a takeaway for attendees or a gift for board members and award recipients. A signed copy of You Are Capable of More extends the conference message into the year, and it costs less than most associations expect at volume. Chris can personalize copies to your organization or your award winners.

He can also run a signing table in the exhibit hall or after the general session, which drives traffic for your sponsors, and he promotes your conference across his own channels before and after. Ask about bulk book pricing, signings, and promotion when you reach out and it can be quoted together with the keynote as one package.

What Program Committees Ask

How far in advance should we book?

Most association conferences book general session speakers six to twelve months out. If your event is inside of six months it is still worth asking, because dates open up, but earlier gives you the most flexibility on format and fee.

Will the content work for both large systems and small rural members?

Yes, and that is deliberate. Chris works with facilities across the size range every week, from critical access hospitals to multi-site systems, and he builds the session so the small member does not feel like an afterthought.

Is this a sales pitch for his companies?

No. Chris does not use association stages to sell staffing services. Program chairs consistently name that as a reason they book him again.

Can he do more than one session?

Yes. A general session plus a breakout or a leadership track session on the same day is common, and it usually costs less than booking two speakers.

What does a state association keynote cost?

Fees depend on location, format, and how many sessions you need. Chris is based in Nebraska, which keeps travel costs manageable across much of the country. Reach out with your budget and you will get a straight answer.
