About the Forum

Where rural Minnesota healthcare comes together.

The Rural Minnesota Health Forum is one of the great gatherings in rural healthcare. Each spring, hospital and clinic leaders, administrators, clinicians and community partners from across the state come together at Arrowwood Resort in Alexandria for a day of learning, conversation and connection with the people who understand their work best.

The day brings together keynote speakers, educational breakout sessions, legislative and policy updates, practical sessions on finance and reimbursement, employment and healthcare law updates, and a vendor fair, all built around the real work of keeping care strong in rural communities. It is a forum made by rural healthcare, for rural healthcare, and it shows in every part of the day.

The Hosts

Three organizations, one shared mission.

The forum is a partnership of three rural healthcare organizations that work every day to help Minnesota’s hospitals, clinics and care teams stay strong and independent.

◆ A Note of Thanks

I am so grateful to Medi-Sota, MN Rural Health Cooperative and Rural Health Alliance for the invitation to close this year’s forum. The people in that room keep care close to home for thousands of Minnesotans, often with fewer resources and longer hours than anyone outside rural healthcare will ever see. Being trusted with the last word of their day is an honor I do not take lightly, and I am looking forward to sending everyone home with something they can carry into their teams and their own lives.

◆ About the Keynote

Rural healthcare asks a lot of the people who work in it. Many wear three or four hats, carry a community on their shoulders, and still find time to take care of everyone around them before themselves.

This closing keynote is built for them. Through honest stories, hard-earned lessons and research from a survey for his book, in which 92% of working adults said they were capable of more than they were doing, Chris helps attendees move through self-doubt, take ownership of their choices and build the small daily habits that turn good intentions into real progress, at work and at home.

01

Quiet the Self-Doubt

How to keep moving forward when the voice in your head says you are not ready yet.

02

Take Ownership

Why the people who grow fastest stop waiting for the right moment and start with what they have.

03

Build the Habits

Simple actions attendees can take the same day, for themselves and for the teams they lead.
