About the Event

The people who serve every county.

The Nebraska Cooperative Extension Association represents the faculty and staff of University of Nebraska Extension. Its annual conference brings Extension professionals together from across the state to learn, recognize one another’s work, and build the working relationships that Extension teams depend on.

It is an audience that leads constantly, often without formal authority: volunteers, 4-H families, community partners, and local boards all rely on Extension professionals to move things forward. Chris lives in Fremont, and bringing this workshop to a room of people who serve Nebraska communities is a good fit close to home.

The Workshop

You Are Capable of More: Leadership

An interactive workshop built on the ten principles in Chris’s book.

◆ About the Workshop

Most teams run at a fraction of what they are actually capable of, and it is rarely a talent problem. In Chris’s survey of more than 200 working adults, 92 percent said they were capable of more than they were currently doing. The barriers they named were self-doubt, fear of failure, comfort, and being too busy.

This workshop turns that finding toward leadership. It covers how leaders take ownership of outcomes, unlock the people around them, and build teams people want to stay on, and it is shaped for professionals whose influence reaches well beyond their own office.

Inside the Workshop
01

Ownership Starts With You

Why the leaders people follow own the outcome before they ask anyone else to.

02

Lead Without the Title

Influence with volunteers, partners, and boards, where nobody reports to you.

03

Unlock the People Around You

Spotting the capable person who is holding back, and what gets them moving.

04

Teams People Stay With

The everyday moments that decide whether good people stay and keep investing.

What to Expect

What Attendees Will Take Away

01

A clear read on where their own comfort ceiling sits, and what it costs their team.

02

One ownership habit to start the next working day.

03

A practical way to have the conversation they have been putting off.

04

A framework they can keep using with their teams and volunteers after the conference.

The Book

You Are Capable of More.

You Are Capable of More is the bestselling book behind the workshop, with ten principles for closing the gap between who you are right now and who you are capable of becoming.

The book includes a playbook readers keep using after the session, which makes it a natural follow-through for teams that want the ideas to stick. Copies can be bundled for attendees, and Chris can sign books after the workshop.
