Recognition has a bias, and it is worth naming plainly. Credit flows toward the visible and the articulate. Toward whoever presents at the all-hands, writes the document, gets named in the launch. The person who solved the manufacturing problem that made the launch possible is usually not in that room, and often could not have described the fix in a way that would have landed there anyway.
None of that is anyone’s fault, and it is fixable by deliberate effort. Route credit toward the build side on purpose, since it will not drift there naturally. Name the specific contribution rather than thanking the team, because a general thank you reliably lands on whoever is already visible. Bring production people into the room where the launch is discussed. Ask the line what is not working and then do something about it, which is the most credible form of respect available on a factory floor.
The same imbalance runs through health care, where the physician gets named in the outcome and the tech who caught the problem at two in the morning does not. It is the same fix in both places.
