Sales Training Workshop

A half-day or full-day interactive sales workshop built on two named frameworks, LAARC for handling objections and LOCKS for finding where a deal is stuck. Reps practice on the real objections in their own pipeline, not on a script.

Why a Workshop

A keynote opens the year. Practice changes the calls.

A rep comes back from a call and says it went great, and then the deal stalls. Nobody can say why. So the team does more follow-up, sends another case study, drops the price, and none of it works, because none of it touches the thing that was actually missing. This workshop gives the team two tools and the time to use them. LOCKS names the five conditions that must all be met before a buyer will close, so a rep can hear an objection and know which one is missing. LAARC is the conversation that follows: Listen, Acknowledge, Ask, Respond, Confirm. Then the room practices both, out loud, on the objections it hears every week.Chris Sund did not learn sales from a book. Before healthcare staffing he spent ten years in the restaurant and beverage industry, finishing as head of sales and marketing for a brewery. He then helped build Uniti Med from a startup into one of the largest healthcare staffing companies in the country, with 10x revenue growth on the core brand and a #3 ranking on the Inc. Regionals list of the fastest-growing companies in the Midwest. The frameworks in this workshop are the ones his own teams use.

The Frameworks

Diagnose with one. Respond with the other.

Diagnose

The LOCKS Framework

LOCKS
Chris’s deal framework: Crack the Code of the Deal. Love the Product, Own Belief, Confidence in You, Kickoff Plan, Stakes. A closed deal works like a combination lock: four out of five is still a locked lock. LOCKS tells a rep which tumbler did not turn. The LOCKS Framework →
Respond

The LAARC Method

LAARC
Listen, Acknowledge, Ask, Respond, Confirm. Objections are an onion, so the first answer is rarely the real one. LAARC gets to the real concern and checks it is resolved before moving on.The LAARC Method →
What Reps Practice

Their own pipeline, out loud.

The team brings live deals and the objections they hear most. The room works through them together.

Collect
The objections the team actually hearsPrice pushback, “send me some info,” “I need to think about it,” the candidate who hesitates over an offer. Gathered from the team before or at the start of the session.
Diagnose
Which LOCKS condition is missingFor each live deal, the team names the tumbler that did not turn, instead of defaulting to another follow-up or a discount.
Role Play
LAARC on real objectionsReps run the five steps in pairs and small groups on objections from their own pipeline, with Chris coaching the pause, the question and the confirm.
Confirm
The step most reps skipPracticing the direct question that checks a concern is resolved, so silence stops being mistaken for agreement.
Commit
What changes on the next callEach rep leaves with the specific conversations they will run differently, using language the whole team now shares.
Formats

How it runs.

01 · Keynote

Kickoff day

A 45 to 60 minute keynote for the full room, then a working breakout where teams apply LOCKS and LAARC to their own deals.
02 · Half Day

Live deals

Both frameworks taught, then the team brings live deals and works through which tumbler is missing on each and what the next conversation needs to do.
03 · Full Day

Practice to habit

Everything in the half day, with more rounds of role play across more of the pipeline, so the frameworks become how the team talks.
Outcomes

What the team leaves with.

01

A shared language

Two named frameworks the whole team and its managers can use in pipeline reviews and call coaching.
02

Objections as diagnosis

“I need to think about it” stops being a brush-off and becomes information about which condition is missing.
03

Less discounting

A rep who knows which of the five conditions is missing knows what to do next, and stops defaulting to price.
04

The pause

Listening to understand instead of listening to reload, and handling one concern at a time.
05

Closing the loop

A habit of confirming each concern is resolved, so fewer deals and candidates go quiet a week later.
06

Rejection resilience

Treating rejection as data, not identity, and getting to the next call sooner.

FAQ

Questions sales leaders ask.

How long is the sales training workshop? It runs as a half day or a full day. It can also be delivered as a keynote followed by a breakout at a sales kickoff, or across several shorter sessions with practice in between.
What frameworks does the workshop teach? Two. LOCKS names the five conditions that must all be met before a buyer will close: Love the Product, Own Belief, Confidence in You, Kickoff Plan and Stakes. LAARC is the method for working through the objection: Listen, Acknowledge, Ask, Respond, Confirm.
Do reps practice on real objections?Yes. The team brings live deals and the objections it hears most, and the role plays are built on those, not on generic scripts. Chris coaches the room through which LOCKS condition is missing and how to run LAARC on each.
Can it run as a breakout at our sales kickoff?Yes. A common format is a keynote for the full room followed by a working breakout. See the sales kickoff keynote for the main-stage session.
Can we get copies of the book for the team?Yes. Many teams pair the workshop with a copy of You Are Capable of More for every attendee. See bulk book orders for pricing and signed editions.
